The brand new Cisk Lager Doubles League will run every Tuesday evening at 2000hrs, commencing on Tuesday 8th May, 2012. The Cisk Lager Doubles League will be sanctioned by the MTBA, and unless otherwise specified in this form, the MTBA general league rules will apply.
Format: Valid and complete application forms will be accepted by the management of the Eden SuperBowl on a first come, first served basis. The league will run over a minimum of 2 rounds, with the number of weeks determined by the number of participating teams, and concluded by a final ‘position night’.
Average and Handicap: Handicaps will be calculated on a 80% of 190 basis, adopting established averages from the current MTBA National Leagues, as at midnight on Friday 13th April. If a bowler does not have a current established average as per the above criteria, an average will be calculated on a “fresh” basis as per MTBA league regulations. The maximum individual handicap will be 25 pins per game.
Prizes: A guaranteed cash prize-fund of €4,000 will be presented on conclusion of the Cisk Lager Doubles League.
Individual Awards: Extra prizes of 12 bowling games will be given to winners of Hi-Average, Hi-Game, Hi-Scratch Game, Hi-Series & Hi-Scratch Series in the ladies’ and men’s categories of each group (The same individual cannot win both in scratch and handicap awards, and players must have bowled a minimum 34% of league games in order to qualify for any individual award).
Ties: Should teams draw on points and also total pinfall, affecting the top 4 final positions, the highest scratch team pinfall will determine the higher placed team. Should there still be a draw, then the prize(s) involved will be divided equally between the teams concerned.
Blinds: In the case of a team being limited to just one bowler, the missing 2nd bowler will be given a ‘blind’ score of 130pts per game, with no handicap being added.
Bowling Unopposed: Should a team be bowling unopposed due to the inclusion of a ‘bye’ team, or their scheduled opponents failing to turn up (forfeit), then that team must bowl within thirty pins of the current team average (latest standings) to be awarded the respective game points, and within 90 pins of the team average in the case of the series points.
Fees: An entry fee of €80.00 per team should accompany the entry form in order for it to be accepted and considered valid. A weekly lineage fee of €24.00 will also be charged to each team.
Postponements: Make-ups must be requested and arranged by using the official document, which is to be passed on to the SuperBowl management no less than 48hrs prior to the commencement of either the re-scheduled match, or the scheduled league fixture – whichever comes first. In order to be accepted as valid, each make-up form must be fully completed and accompanied by a fee of €7.00. Make-ups will not be permitted for the final week of the league, however they will be permitted for the penultimate two weeks of the league, provided matches are played prior to the league fixture. Where matches cannot be played due to bowlers being on National Team duty, the criteria provided by the MTBA rules and regulations shall apply.
Team Captains: The team captain is responsible for all aspects of his team, and must ensure that they comply with all relevant rules and regulations. As this is a sanctioned league, all participants must be bona fide MTBA members prior to playing. Failure to abide by this rule will result in the offending bowler(s) having his/her games declared null and void.
Bowling Unopposed/Blind Scores: An individual blind score shall count as 130 pins per game – no handicap. Teams bowling unopposed must play within 30 pins of their current team average to be awarded the game points accordingly, and within 90 pins for the series points (both inclusive of handicap).
