This tournament is organised by Eden SuperBowl. International playing rules together with the following rules shall govern this tournament.

DIRECTOR:

The director of the tournament shall be the Manager of Eden SuperBowl.

BONUS POINTS:

Every participant will be awarded bonus points, according to age, for each and every game, as indicated hereunder (maximum of 15 pins):
50-56 years - Scratch
57 and over - 1 bonus point per year
(57=1 point, 58=2 points etc.)

For the Round Robin stage (Top 8 men and ladies) the following points/bonus system will be applied in both the Men's and Ladies' divisions:
1 point per pin
20 points per win
10 points per tie
5 points for games between 200 and 250
10 points for games of 251 and over
Top 4 qualify for Finals

DISPUTES:

A provisional ball will be rolled in the case of a dispute which cannot be decided on the spot. Any protests must be submitted in writing to the Tournament Director within 30 minutes of the game in which the infraction occurred.

GENERAL:

All competitors must register at least 30 minutes prior to their scheduled bowling time. Bowlers who have not registered at the time practice starts, shall be disqualified and replaced by the next reserve in the first round.
Bowlers arriving late for the other rounds will be permitted to bowl from that frame onwards.
Any bowler who may be, in the opinion of the Tournament Director, under the influence of alcohol at any time during the course of bowling, will be disqualified.
Bowlers will not be permitted to smoke during their respective sessions.
All competitors must bowl in suitable bowling attire (jeans and sleeveless shirts are prohibited, as are shorts for male competitors).


ELIGIBILITY:

This tournament is open to all bowlers who are 50 or more years by the 1st day of the tournament.

FEES:
The mandatory entry fee is €120 per person for the initial 12-game Qualification Round. All persons that register must complete the entry form including details of any valid credit/debit card. The initial €120 fee is strictly non-refundable, unless notice of cancellation is received by the 30th of September 2010. After this date, participants may transfer their fee to an eligible replacement.
The 6-Game Re-Entry fee is €50 for each re-entry - see notes on the re-entry system in the Format/Qualification section below.
 

TIES:

In the event of a tie for any of the qualifying stages, the player with the highest last game including bonus shall be declared the qualifier. If this results in a further tie, the bowler with the highest penultimate game shall be declared the qualifier (and so on if further ties result). If there is a tie in any step-ladder match, the participants involved will bowl one ball on a full set of ten pins for the highest score, repeated until the tie is broken. Ties for prize money shall be divided equally amongst the bowlers concerned.

REFUSAL TO BOWL:

Should a player refuse to bowl at the correct pace at any stage of the tournament, his/her game shall be declared forfeited and the bowler concerned shall receive the prize of the loser of that match if he/she qualifies for a prize.

FORMAT/QUALIFICATION:
The Qualification Round bill be decided over 12 games (two series of 6 games). 6-game re-entries (unlimited, subject to availability) will be possible in order to replace one of the initial two series. At least one of the initial two series must form part of the 12-game qualification total. The top 24 men, and 12 ladies will advance to round two. Total pinfall will be carried forward to Round Two.

Mens Round 2 and 3: After a further four games, the top 12 men will advance to Round 3, pinfall will be carried forward. Another 4 games will be played in Round 3, and the top 8 men will qualify for the Round Robin Stage. 50% of the accumulated pinfall will be carried forward from Mens Round 3.

Ladies Round 2: After a further four games, the top 8 ladies will qualify for the Round Robin Stage. 50% of the accumulated pinfall will be carried forward from Ladies Round 2.

The top four Men and Ladies after the Round Robin stage will go through to the Stepladder Final, which will consist of 1-game head-to-head matches:
3rd vs 4th - Winner against 2nd - Winner against 1st (decides Malta Senior Open Champions - 2010)
