QUALIFYING ROUND:

12 games (two series of 6 games)

6-game re-entries (unlimited, subject to availability) will be possible in order to replace one of the initial two series. At least one of the initial two series must form part of the 12-game qualification total. Re-entry reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability, and waiting lists will be formed for any extra reservations.

ANY GAME TURBO:

The Any Game Turbo is a bowlers high game (inc. any age or ladies bonuses) within any six-game series where an Any Game Turbo entry has been registered. For all twelve initial qualifying games to be included, two Any Game Turbo entries will be required (one for each six-game series).

DESPERADO SQUAD:

1 game, immediately after the final qualifying squad (Squad J)

QUALIFICATION:
30 Bowlers will qualify for the Final Stages as follows:

Qualifying Round - Top 22 bowlers go through to the Final Stages

Positions 1-3 will automatically go through to Final Stage 3

Positions 4-6 will automatically go through to Final  Stage 2

Positions 7-22 will continue in Final Stage 1

Any Game Turbo – Top 4 Turbo bowlers* will qualify in positions 23 – 26 for Final Stage 1

Deperado Squad - Top 4 bowlers will qualify in positions 27-30 for Final Stage 1

*Top 4 Turbo games by bowlers who have not already qualified from the Qualifying Round

FINAL STAGE 1:

24 bowlers (qualifying positions 7-22, plus 4 Turbos, plus 4 Desperados) will play 4 games from scratch. The top 9 will go through to Final Stage 2. Non-qualifiers from this stage shall be ranked 16^th-30^th accordingly.

FINAL STAGE 2:

12 bowlers (qualifying positions 4-6, plus 9 from Final Stage 1) will play four games from scratch. Top 5 will go through to Final Stage 3. Non-qualifiers from this stage shall be ranked 9th - 15th accordingly.

FINAL STAGE 3 – KNOCK OUT:

The top 8 bowlers will play 2-game head-to-head Knock-Out matches for total pinfall, including any bonuses. The top 3 bowlers from the Qualifying Round will be seeded 1^st to 3^rd for this stage, while the 5 qualifiers from Final Stage 2 shall be seeded 4^th to 8^th:

1^st vs 8^th           2^nd vs 7^th          3^rd vs 6^th           4^th vs 5^th

The 4 defeated bowlers from this stage will be ranked from 5^th to 8^th in the final standings, according to their previous qualifying positions.

FINAL STAGE 4 – KNOCK OUT:

The 4 winning bowlers from Final Stage 3 will be reseeded 1^st to 4^th according to their previous seeded positions, and play further 2-Game Knock-Out matches for total pinfall:

The 2 defeated bowlers from this stage will be ranked from 3^rd to 4^th in the final standings, according to their previous qualifying positions.

FINAL STAGE 5 – GRAND FINAL:

A 2-Game Knock-Out match for total pinfall will decide the Champion, and Runner Up of the 2011 Senior Malta Open Championship.
